Understanding PayPal US Fees
PayPal charges fees for various types of transactions, depending on whether you're using a Consumer or Merchant account. Below, we break down the fees for both account types.
PayPal Merchant Fees (Business Accounts)
For business accounts, PayPal charges different rates depending on the transaction type:
- PayPal Checkout: 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction
- Credit & Debit Cards: 2.99% + $0.49 per transaction
- Goods and Services: 2.99% + $0.49 per transaction
- QR Code Transactions: 2.29% + $0.09 per transaction
- Donations: 2.89% + $0.49 per transaction
- Charity Transactions: 1.99% + $0.49 per transaction
- Micropayments (<$10): 4.99% + $0.09 per transaction
PayPal Consumer Fees (Personal Accounts)
- Buying with PayPal: No fee (currency conversion fees may apply)
- Receiving Donations: 2.89% + fixed fee
- Sending Money (Balance/Bank): No fee
- Sending Money (Card): 2.90% + $0.30
International Transaction Fees
Additional fees apply for cross-border transactions:
- Merchant accounts: +1.50% additional fee
- Personal sending: +5.00% additional fee
